My previous research covers the ecology of heterotrophic bacteria, cyanobacteria of the genera Synechococcus and Prochlorococcus, picoeukaryotes and heterotrophic nanoflagellates in the water column of the Adriatic Sea. Recently, with my research group, I began to study unexplored bacterial group - Aerobic Anoxygenic Phototrophs in the Adriatic Sea using IR microscopy and molecular methods.
