PROJECT TEAM
The principal investigator Ivica Vilibić is a senior research scientist employed at the Institute of Oceanography and Fisheries. Ivica will coordinate the work of the ADIOS project, do the administrative work (as less as possible!), do the research (as much as possible!), and on other items as ordinary principal investigators do in such projects.
Ivica Janeković is a research scientist employed at the Institute Rudjer Bošković. Ivica will work on setting and execution of short-term and long-term high-resolution atmosphere/ocean model runs.
Samuel Somot is a senior research scientist employed at the CNRM institute in Toulouse, France. He is one of the leading atmosphere/ocean climate modellers in the Mediterranean and he will work on assessment of the available Med-CORDEX climate models in the Adriatic Sea.
Manuel Bensi and Vedrana Kovačević are associate research scientists employed at the OGS Institute in Trieste, Italy. They are doing a lot of work on field studies in the Adriatic-Ionian basin (national and international projects) and are engaged in investigations of processes that drive interannual and decadal thermohaline variations in the Adriatic. Therefore, they will work on analyses of the long-term field data related to the Adriatic thermohaline variability and generating processes.
Darko Koračin is a full professor employed at the Faculty of Science of the University of Split. He is an experienced atmospheric researcher, thus he will do the research on long-term climate changes in coastal eastern Adriatic area on the ADIOS project, also by analysing outputs of the high-resolution COAWST Adriatic simulations.
Clea Denamiel is a postdoctoral researcher employed by the Institute of Oceanography and Fisheries. She is an experienced ocean and atmosphere numerical modeller, earning her skills in best world research institutions (MIT, Imperial College). She will set up and execute past and future COAWST high-resolution atmosphere/ocean simulations and work on verification and preliminary analyses.
Natalija Dunić is a PhD student employed by the Institute of Oceanography and Fisheries, working on ocean climate modelling in collaboration with CNRM modelling group. She will analyse Med-CORDEX climate models and their capacities to reproduce processes that drive Adriatic interannual and decadal variations.
Slavko Radilović is a PhD student employed at the Faculty of Science of the University of Split. Together with his mentor Darko Koračin, he will work on climate changes and analyses of COAWST model outputs in the Adriatic coastal area.
Hrvoje Mihanović is a research scientist employed by the Institute of Oceanography and Fisheries, doing research on interannual and decadal Adriatic thermohaline oscillations (among other!), and for that reason he will be associated to the ADIOS project as a consultant.
Jadranka Šepić is an associate research scientist employed by the Institute of Oceanography and Fisheries, being expert in numerical modelling and Adriatic thermohaline circulation (among other!), qualifying her to be consultant on the ADIOS project.
Petra Zemunik is a PhD student employed by the Institute of Oceanography and Fisheries, working on high-frequency sea level oscillations in the world seas and their connection to the atmosperic processes.
Petra Pranić is a PhD student employed by the Institute of Oceanography and Fisheries, working on verification of the AdriSC climate simulation (1987-2017) and their capacity to reproduce the Adriatic-Ionian dynamics and processes.
