Travel to Split



By plane: Split Airport (Zračna luka Split, code: SPU) is located 25 km from the city centre. From the airport, you can take a taxi or a bus to the city centre. The recommended mode of transport to and from the airport is the Shuttle Bus, organised by Pleso Transport Company. A one-way ticket costs €10 and can be purchased online. This is a direct service that terminates at the Main Bus Station in Split, which is located near the Riva and the railway station. The taxi fare from the airport to the city centre ranges from €30 to €50, depending on the taxi company, time of day, traffic, and any surcharges. Split has a wide selection of taxi companies (including Uber and Bolt), and most can be ordered online:

If you cannot find a direct flight to Split, the best alternative is Zagreb airport. From Zagreb, you can book a direct flight to Split, operated by Croatia Airlines, travel by bus or rent a car.

Another airport is Zadar Airport, which offers some low-cost flights. The bus from Zadar airport to Split takes approximately 3 hours. However, if you arrive at Zadar Airport, we recommend renting a car, as the journey takes approximately 2 hours via the highway.


By car: If you are driving, Split is accessible via major highways from Zagreb using the E65 and E71. The journey takes approximately 4 hours by car.
