In a framework of bilateral project, Dr. Rafał Nawrot, Prof Martin Zuschin, and PhD student Isabella Leonhard from Vienna, and their collegue Prof Adam Tomasovych from the Slovak Academy of Sciences visted the IOF. We discussed sampling methods and approaches, related the analysis of modern and fossil Arca noae and Vericorbula gibba specimens.
In early June, Melita Peharda Uljević visited Brest to participate in the defence committee of the PhD thesis of Valentin Siebert. As a part of this visit, Melita had meetings with Julien Thébault, BiVACME collaborator and Mr Siebert’s PhD supervisor. This included work on a joint manuscript, a discussion on possibilities to process shells from France and short lab training in acetate peel preparation.
